Human Nature is a provocative exploration of the far-reaching implications of CRISPR gene editing, the scientific breakthrough of the century.

Challenge

How can we bring to the public’s attention a seminal film about CRISPR genome engineering, the most profound and consequential technology of our time?

Approach

We partnered with Wonder Collaborative and ro*co films to help increase the awareness of Human Nature – the definitive film on CRISPR technology. The goal was for audiences to experience this critically acclaimed production and understand that the biggest technology revolution of the 21st century isn’t digital, it’s biological.

Impact

The film arrives at a critical point with CRISPR-based food, medical therapeutics, and cures for genetic disease all on the horizon. Audiences are given access to the pioneers behind its development, the patients hoping to benefit from it, and the genetic engineers pushing the limits of what it can do.

We are shown exactly how CRISPR gives us unprecedented control over the basic building blocks of life, opening the door to new personalized medicines, reshaping the biosphere, and potentially designing our own children.

As a result of the film, the public can more clearly see the brighter future that CRISPR can deliver as well as consider the key questions of ethics and responsible use that we as a society must answer. Join the conversation about the film at #HumanNatureFilm.

“Human Nature tells the story of CRISPR genome engineering with a gripping mix of science and heart. It gives audiences a front row seat to a technological revolution that could reshape our planet and humanity itself. As we embark on a global conversation about an uncertain future, this film is essential viewing.”
